Acacia Park Reopening April 30

Post Date:04/29/2021

On Friday, April 30, the City of El Segundo will officially reopen Acacia Park (located at 625 W. Acacia Ave.) to the community after being closed for construction. Earlier this week, members of the El Segundo City Council were joined by Recreation and Parks Commissioners along with the contractors and landscape architects who worked on the project to walk the park before its official reopening and celebrated the occasion with a group photo. With the completion of the park improvement project, all city playgrounds in El Segundo are now ADA compliant.

The park features new play equipment with modern features to provide varying degrees of difficulty for children of all abilities between the ages of two and twelve. Other amenities include: two shaded play structures, swings, picnic tables, and a meandering walking path. The park is also lined with Acacia Baileyana ‘Purpurea’ trees, commonly known as Purple-leaf Acacia trees and includes other drought-tolerant plants.

The community is invited to visit the updated park and enjoy all of its amenities starting Friday, April 30.
