The El Segundo Pickleball league is a team registration, and the designated captain is responsible for registering the team. At time of registration the team must have the minimum number of rostered players on the team. The captain will be the primary point of contact during the season.

Returning teams from the previous season will be pre-registered. If openings exist in a division, new teams will be added.

New teams interested in joining the league should send an email to Connie Thrasher at cthrasher@elsegundo.org.

There are five different league types in the El Segundo Pickleball program.

• Women’s Doubles (WD)
• Mixed Doubles (MXD)
• Men’s Doubles (MD)
• All Gender 4.5 Doubles (AG)
• Premier (P)

In your email, please indicate the league type and skill level that your team is interested in joining.  

*Individuals who are not on do not have a team may register on the Free Agent registration link that will be available online prior to the season start. We will share your information with the captains. There is no guarantee of placement.

• Mixed Doubles= $465

Unless otherwise indicated the seasons are 8 weeks in length with playoffs held on week 8.

Format is a doubles, round robin format, playing on 2 courts simultaneously for a total of 12 games for Women’s and Mixed Doubles.

Each league type has multiple skill level divisions defined as:

• 3.0 skill level – Intermediate
• 3.5 skill level – Advanced Intermediate
• 4.0 skill level – Advanced
• 4.5 skill level – Advanced +
• Premier level – Expert 5.0 & Above

Ranges exist within divisions to support skill development, advancement opportunities, & ensure better balance in each division.

Women’s Doubles divisions play on Wednesday & Thursday mornings 8:45am-10:45am and 11:00am-1:00pm.

All gender plays on Monday nights 7:00pm-10:00pm.

Men's Doubles plays on Tuesday nights 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Mixed Doubles divisions play on Wednesday & Thursday nights 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Women’s Doubles roster must have a minimum of 4, maximum of 10 players

Mixed Doubles roster must have a minimum of 2 women & 2 men and a maximum of 10 players

Recommend that each team carry a roster of 7-10 players to cover for absences. 

Players can only roster on ONE team per league in the skill level they’re rated.   

Players can roster in 2 different leagues per season

Players must be at least 18 years of age

The season length and number of games played weekly will be dependent on the number of teams in each bracket.  Weekly game results and standings will be available to all via the league software. The link and software info will be provided to teams at the start of each season.

Any player or team observed to be playing in the wrong skill level division will be notified and moved to the correct division for the next season if openings are available.

If a team is significantly above the skill level of the division during the season, adjustments may be made by the league coordinator for playoffs.

If a player is significantly above the skill level of the division during the season, the player may be restricted in the number of games they play weekly.

Season stats and league coordinator assessments will determine if relegation and qualifiers will be conducted on a per division basis. Teams do NOT automatically move up or down divisions due to the season outcome. 

The goal of the league is to ensure balance of play in each division and provide opportunities for teams to advance as skill levels advance.

WD and MXD Leagues

Premier, 4.5, and MD Leagues

Players provide their own paddles which must appear on the USAP list of approved paddles. 

Game balls are provided for league games and the Franklin X-40 optic color is the official ball.

The league is here to provide fun, friendly competition for those that love the game. Recreation is the focus of this league.

Park rules are posted which include standard items such as no alcohol, smoking, profanity, abusive behavior or language.

Good Sportsmanship is expected and poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated.  Consequences are at the discretion of the park employees based on the severity of the offense could include a warning up to and including removal from the league.
